Spring Time

Is it just me? Or does it feel like spring is finally here…….

Yesterday I noticed the change in the weather the most. I left work and it was quite a pleasant wait at the bus stop; rather than being soaked by the pouring rain or worse teeth chattering in the freezing cold air.

My weather app told me it was 10°c and I’ll take that. Don’t worry this isn’t going to be all about the weather but I do have to point out that I have a strange obsession with all kinds of weather, mostly storms.

On my way home, there was even a wee squirrel sitting along a grass verge next to the road. He seemed to be chilling in the sun and also looked quite relaxed. It’s the little things. Most people don’t notice or might not take a second to appreciate.

Spring includes the pretty flowers, the sunshine smiles and perkier moods. I honestly think we have a lot to thank the sun for. Have you ever noticed how much friendlier people become when the sun is shining? And let’s not forget the chicks, lambs and all other new arrivals to the world.

Today my weather app says it’s only 5°c but the sun is giving off a lot of heat. Let’s just cut to the chase – I can’t wait for summer!

This morning I struggled to find my ‘get up and go’ mindset. I had this stupid idea yesterday to wear a brand new pair of boots to work and I didn’t wear them in! Seriously what was I thinking? You’d think I’d have learnt by now. They weren’t too uncomfortable but they weren’t as flat as I remembered, even the slightest lift affects my walking/balance. By the end of the day, my left calf and feet felt like they were on fire. In all seriousness though, do you think my calf will at least be a little toned now?

Sometimes, I find a song helps me get in to a better mind set. I tend to either go for songs that remind me of a cheerier time. Most of the time I would listen to reggaeton; reminds me of the time I lived in Spain. I’d say my top 3 songs that I love to listen to for a boost are ‘Bailando’ by Enrique Iglesias, ‘Waiting all night’ by Rudimental ft. Ella Eyre and ‘La La La’ by Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith.

Now let’s all try and take a minute out of our day to enjoy our surroundings, breathe and de-stress!

Until next time.
